The following types of atypical surgical interventions are carried out on the basis of the Bogoliuba Center for Reproductive Medicine. These operations for:
- purulent tumors of the uterus;
- giant tumors of the uterus, ovaries;
- retrocervical endometriosis;
- pelvioperitonitis;
- creating a new vagina with its congenital absence.
The process of live tissue welding
The most advanced technology for live tissue weldingis usued. The action of the method of formation of a welded joint is based on the effect of electrothermal denaturation of protein molecules.
Schematically, the main phenomena that occur when welding soft tissues can be described as follows. The joined fabric layers are brought into contact with their surface layers using a welding tool. Next, the surgeon compresses the welded area of the tissue using the electrodes of the welding tool and includes a source of welding current. After the welding process control program and power off, the captured tissue is released, then the process should be repeated until the wound is completely closed.
Advantages of using welding technology
A fundamental difference is established between the impact on the living tissue of the welding process compared to the widely used coagulation process. The latter causes a burn and necrosis of the tissue at the site of exposure to heat, while using welding technology, much less tissue damage and no burns are achieved, which is confirmed by morphological studies, as well as the absence of smoke and unpleasant odors during welding. Tissue damage at the welding site is excluded, which contributes to faster and easier healing of the tissue of the operated organ, restoration of its morphological structure and functions.
The accumulated experience shows that the use of welding technology provides an externally attractive seam that is thin, even, elegant, non-deforming organ, and does not reduce the lumen of hollow organs.
A complete sealing of the joint at the weld site is achieved and asepticity is ensured. The use of welding technology simplifies the surgical technique.
